2013 Betelgeuse Shiraz
Opaque dark red black colour with a dark red hue. Aromas of dark plum and liquorice are followed by some toasty vanillin oak and spicy earth. Medium bodied the palate has generous flavours of juicy dark plums and liquorice over some vanillin oak, faint earth and spice. Slightly dryish finish with fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of spicy dark plums, liquorice, vanillin oak and faint earth. Matured for 20 months in old French oak. Awards - a northern Rhone style Shiraz. Silver Medal at Le Concours des Vins, Victoria, in 2015.
