2012 Betelgeuse Shiraz
A full-bodied red lovers’ wine. Spicy, ripe, fresh and complex shiraz with a spice box of white pepper, brown spices, and dried herbs, and lemon verbena in the aromas. The palate is ripe, bold, long, rich and even. The red and black fruits are high intensity in the middle palate with black peppery spicy edges running long and ripe, into liquorice smoked meats and dark spices. Matured for 24 months in old French oak. Alcohol level: 15.1%
AWARDS - The Betelgeuse 2012 Shiraz is a northern Rhone style Shiraz. This wine won a Gold Medal at Le Concours des Vins, Victoria, in 2014.
Rob Geddes MW, author of Australian Wine Vintages review of our Betelgeuse Shiraz 2012 gives it 95/100. He says " A full bodied red lovers wine. Spicy, ripe, fresh and complex Victorian shiraz with a spice box of white pepper, brown spices, and dried herbs, and lemon verbena in the aromas. The palate is ripe, bold, long, rich and even. The red and black fruits are high intensity in the middle palate with black peppery spicy edges running long and ripe, into licorice smoked meats and dark spices."
